A Landmark Music Venue for the ACT

Snow Concert Hall is one of Australia’s newest and most technologically advanced music performance venues – an acoustically refined, architecturally striking space created to elevate the cultural life of Canberra and the region.

Opened in August 2022, the 936-seat auditorium is designed for exceptional sound, comfort, and audience experience, providing a stage worthy of international, national and local artists.

Nestled within the grounds of Canberra Grammar School in the city’s leafy Red Hill precinct, the Hall serves as a vibrant cultural hub hosting orchestras, chamber ensembles, contemporary artists, community performers, festivals, and touring productions. Its state-of-the-art acoustics and elegant design position it as a signature destination for both performers and audiences across Australia.

A Space Designed for Musical Excellence

Purpose-built and meticulously tuned, Snow Concert Hall features a 936-seat main auditorium with world-class acoustic engineering, additional balcony bench seating for up to 400 people, and an intimate sound environment designed to support everything from solo performances to full orchestras. Its versatile staging and technical capabilities allow the venue to accommodate a wide range of musical and performance events with ease.

The venue forms part of a larger cultural complex that includes rehearsal studios, music tuition rooms, and modern gathering spaces—amenities that allow artists and ensembles to rehearse, collaborate, and perform in one integrated environment.

Architecture, Design & Sustainability

Designed by Cox Architecture, Snow Concert Hall blends contemporary innovation with sustainable engineering and a timeless aesthetic, incorporating geothermal systems for efficient year-round climate control, warm natural finishes that enhance both the visual and acoustic experience, and a striking glass-lined atrium that opens views across the surrounding precinct, all while honouring the historic character of the area through a modern and thoughtful architectural identity.

The building is crafted not just as a performance venue, but as an inviting public place – open, light-filled, and designed to enrich community life.
